The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) presents a broad array of opportunities for the study of life, encompassing 9 schools and departments.Together, they offer 17 majors and 45 concentrations for undergraduates and ten majors and 30 concentrations for graduate degrees. The research arm of the college is the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (MAFES).

We are so excited for this new facility!

Mississippi State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its Livestock Evaluation Laboratory today!

As part of a fifth-generation farming family and beef cattle producer, U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, who was in attendance, said she understands the importance of livestock evaluation. Her support was instrumental in bringing the new facility to fruition.
