Mississippi State University Academic Advising Center (UAAC)

UAAC is the academic home of the university's undeclared students and aids them in finding an academic major compatible with their life goals.

The Center also is an advising resource for all MSU students, parents, faculty and staff. The University Academic Advising Center was established to meet the needs of those students who have competing interest in more than one major area, as well as those who are uncertain of their career and educational goals.

We are at a loss... of our leader, co-worker, and friend. He has supported each of us in both work and life and will be greatly missed. His passion for Mississippi State and it's students was evident each and every day in our office. Our thoughts are with his family during this time.

Are you a low tech note taker or a high tech note taker? Here's a noteworthy study of the effects of taking class notes by hand on memory. http://www.npr.org/2016/04/17/474525392/attention-students-put-your-laptops-away

Researchers Pam Mueller and Daniel M. Oppenheimer found that students remember more via taking notes longhand rather than on a laptop. It has to do with what happens when you're forced to slow down.
