Kiwanis Club of Starkville

Kiwanis Club of Starkville Our mission is to assist Kiwanis International in serving the children of the world, The State of Mississippi, Oktibbeha County and the Starkville Community.

The Kiwanis Club of Starkville, MS was chartered on July 24, 1964. Our club began with just 25 members and grew to over 100 members in 2009 before declining in recent years. Over the years, the club has held many fundraisers, including pancake breakfasts, spaghetti dinners and other events including running the concessions at Miss. State University Humphrey Coliseum for over 30 years.. We help out

in the community in a variety of ways, including sponsoring youth groups, raising money to benefit children and children’s support groups, and providing scholarships. The club has enjoyed a rich history over the years, with its members coming from fields like accounting, civil service, education, management, and many more

We meet at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux on Highway 12, the first Tuesday of the month @ 12 Noon and the third Tuesday of the month from 5:30 - 7:00pm for a social.

As a wrap-up of the 2026 Kiwanis Club of Starkville's, United We Feed Food Drive, We surpassed all our previous records and collected a total of 25,500 non-perishable food items and donated those to 33 food pantries in Oktibbeha County. None of this would have been possible without so many individuals and businesses in Starkville and the Golden Triangle. A full list of donors that made this possible is posted below in an article that was in the Starkville Daily News on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

A huge shout out to 4-County Electric Power Association Foundation for the donated grant funds, the flatbed truck and the huge donation of labor to unload some 5,000 non-perishable food items. A second huge shout-out to Starkville Community Foundation / 100wwcstarkville (100 Women Who Care - Starkville) for the grant funds that allowed us to purchase additional food items.

The Kiwanis Club of Starkville would like to thank the following faculty member and students from Starkville Academy that came out as part of their Volunteer Day to help us organize our book storage warehouse and project United We Read, in preparation for the Starkville Community Market opening in a couple weeks. Faculty advisor: Wade Barksdale; Students, Bristo Santucci, Brody Burkley, Samuel Buckner, Diwas Brown, Blake Little, Julian Kraker, Will Jewel, Tate Ferguson and Barron Delivorias. Everyone chipped in to sort books into categories and then place them in storage totes that will help us better organize and move the books back and forth from the Community Market each week.

Once again the Kiwanis Club of Starkville is grateful to Kim Moreland and Moreland Storage for the discounted storage units to store our books in a climate-controlled environment. If you need climate-controlled storage or need to store your RV or need a land-lease for an RV or camper go and talk to the folks at Moreland Storage on Highway 12.
