Laasya 2017

Laasya 2017 Laasya is the nation's oldest intercollegiate Indian classical dance competition across the nation! This year it is being held at Penn State University.

It was founded by Boston University and MIT in 2010, and since then has been hosted by many universities such as UC Berkeley, University of Washington, and Georgia Tech. 10 collegiate classical teams across the nation will come to perform choreographed pieces to compete for the championship title. This competition is unique because each piece has an overall theme that could retell a classical Indi

an tale or show the spotlight on an issue in society. Pieces typically include blends of various styles of Indian classical dance such as Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kathak.
