Tarleton Journos in Urbino Tarleton State University's Department of Communication Studies launches its first study abroad in Urbino, Italy, July 2-20.

This is the home page for the Tarleton State University Department of Communication Studies' study abroad program based in Urbino, Italy. Students will be engaged in travel writing, travel photography, digital mapping, website creation and magazine production during their time in Urbino and excursions to other cities such as Florence and Ravenna. They will immerse themselves in Italian la

nguage and culture and produce on online and print publication of interest to other study abroad programs, travelers and locals. Students also will be exposed to the art, history, lifestyle, agriculture and architecture of Italy with an emphasis on communication.

More photos of the advance graduation celebration the students staged for Kelsey Poynor, who will graduate next month. The tradition is for University of Urbino graduating students to wear a wreath of laurel leaves on their head, sing a song poking fun at their professors and then get showered with confetti popped from a big tube. And, of course, a toast to the graduate!

Everyone arrived back safely at DFW Airport yesterday afternoon. Not everyone's bags made it back, but otherwise the return trip went smoothly and some of us wasted no time feasting on Texas barbecue!
