Brent Gough’s professional success as owner of one of the most successful wealth management firms in North Texas started when he was a first-generation student at Tarleton State University. Today, he is dedicated to giving back some of his success by sponsoring Team Tarleton and a generous scholarship for the Dr. Sam Pack College of Business.

Because of donor support, students like Matthew Till are pursuing their passions with confidence and purpose.

Through Tarleton State University Steinway Initiative, Matthew has the opportunity to practice and perform on world-class Steinway pianos — an experience that enriches his education and prepares him for a successful future in music.

This opportunity was made possible through support of the President's Circle, which empowers university leadership to invest in areas of greatest need and highest impact across campus.

"When you have that stability and reassurance in what you're doing, it helps you keep going," Matthew shared.

Your support creates opportunities that transform lives, strengthen academic excellence, and help Texans achieve their dreams.

Some lessons stay with you long after graduation.

For Roy Russell ’94, Tarleton State provided more than an education — it gave him lifelong friendships, career opportunities, and a foundation for servant leadership. Today, Roy continues to give back through the Roy D. Russell Family Agricultural Education Scholarship, helping prepare the next generation of agricultural educators.

It's giving back and having the heart of a servant that is the legacy Roy wants to leave.

Read Roy's inspiring story and discover why supporting future Texans matters so much to him.

Campus feels a little different in the summer.

The views are just as beautiful, but it's the students who bring Tarleton State to life. Their energy, traditions, and Texan spirit are what make this place special.

We're enjoying the quiet while it lasts, but we can't wait to welcome our Texans back home.

See you soon.

Shelby Perrenoud originally chose Tarleton State University because she believed the transition from her small hometown to college would be easier there. Her goal was to graduate and eventually become a dentist. What she didn’t expect was to truly find herself and her people along the way.

Dr. Thomas Faulkenberry and his wife, Dr. Eileen Faulkenberry, use their roles as professors and deans at Tarleton State University to shape students’ lives every day. However, the legacy they are leaving extends beyond leadership, encompassing their generosity as they contribute to various Dean’s Circles and scholarships, in hopes of helping students receive the same opportunities they had.
