Congratulations to the men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, on turning 113 today! ❤️👌🏿
These brothers have epitomized tenets of achievement while continuing the legacy of their founders by uplifting the Black community with a focus on the "spiritual, social, intellectual and moral welfare of members."
In the spirit of Imani (Faith), on Day 7 of the final principle of Kwanzaa, we honor our best traditions as a Blue and White family for our community and culture. Sisters, as we begin this new year, we charge you to continue looking within yourselves and above to strive for a higher level of spirituality and a better life for you and those around you.
Faith in ourselves is critical. Faith in our human capacity to live righteously, self-correcting, supporting, caring for and being responsible for each other, continuing to evolve and creating a good network around us.
We look forward to executing initiatives, stateside and internationally, through our local chapters that profoundly transform lives and communities daily.
Sisters, what does your Imani look like moving into the new year?
Cheers to health, happiness, and prosperity in 2024!
As an organization with a membership of college-educated women in various disciplines, it is our honor to celebrate and recognize Day 5 of the Kwanzaa principle, Nia. Sisters, we have a Purpose to carry the vision of our Founders! We are destined to build with higher capacity, to strengthen others through fellowship and create impact through The Extraordinary Power of S.H.E. - an opportunity for Zetas worldwide to be intentional about Social, Health and Economic justice for women at home and abroad.
Zeta aims to empower communities with essential knowledge, resources and connections that are breaking barriers and creating a more inclusive and equitable society for those impacted by the work of Zeta.
We also serve through intentional mentorship and share lived experiences through our young girls in our youth auxiliary continuum and communities worldwide, life skills are developed and their purposes defined.
As we celebrate the principle of Nia, Sisters, think about your purpose and what drives your commitment to Zeta. Share below.
On Day 4 of Kwanzaa, we recognize the principle of Ujamaa. It celebrates the spirit of Cooperative Economics to build businesses, control the economics within our communities, and share in all its work and wealth.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority intentionally supports black-owned small companies at every national conference by encouraging participation in our exhibition space and product inclusion in bags put in the hands of thousands of registrants in attendance. We were not only able to launch the “Women Who Win” Business Directory, a Zeta initiative providing business development and coaching to members, but we’re also preparing for one of our most significant business ventures that will help small business owners become cash-flow-positive.
Sisters, how are you contributing to Cooperative Economics within your community?
We proudly recognize Day 3 of Kwanzaa - the principle of Ujima, Collective Work and Responsibility.
For 103 years, Zeta members have been revitalizing and reshaping communities by bringing much-needed resources and programming to neighborhoods around the globe, from serving mining communities in Pennsylvania during the Great Depression years to realizing the need across continents and being the first organization to plant boots on the ground and charter a chapter in Africa.
Zeta women remain stalwarts of education and scholarship by establishing a national educational foundation providing monies to offset the cost of college and distributing thousands of dollars in scholarships through local chapters. Also, through partnerships with NGOs with core value similarities, such as The March of Dimes, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, The American Cancer Society, Micah’s Voice, and the National Council of Negro Women, Zeta Phi Beta continues to expand its footprint of Ujima transforming lives by being living examples of our organizational principle, Service.
Sisters, what Collective Work and/or Responsibility are you engaging in?
As undergraduates at Howard University, the Founders of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated deeply understood the Kwanzaa principle, Kujichagulia. Translated into Self-Determination, our trailblazing Founders believed in the need for a new and different type of Greek-lettered organization and acted upon that need. Zeta was more than an organization to these women – it was a movement.
Our Zeta sisters worldwide reflect this belief system as they continue to carry the desire to provide accurate Service, embrace Scholarship, set standards for Sisterly Love, and define the noble concepts of Finer Womanhood.
Sisters, how do you define Self-Determination?
Today is Day 1 of the celebration of Kwanzaa, also known as Umoja or Unity.
Unity, a concept kept away from African Americans during our country's founding, is an important principle to learn, adopt and practice. Sisters, we have strength in our unity of fellowship, service and servanthood.
Because of our illustrious founders and their dedicated unity to stand above for service, Zeta has fervent leaders who carry a TORCH forward to foster community awareness and action through educational, economic, and cultural service initiatives.
Zeta's purpose is to empower communities with essential knowledge, resources and connections that are breaking barriers and creating a more inclusive and equitable society for those impacted by our organization.
Kwanzaa is not only a celebration that honors African heritage, culminating in a feast and gift-giving, but it is also a gentle reminder that being greater than yourself and giving back to those around you is the ultimate purpose for the lives we lead.

Today, we celebrate and uplift the black and gold men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated on their 117th Anniversary!
Seven young men came together at Cornell University on December 4th, 1906 to build a brotherhood that not only supports and encourages black students to pursue higher education, but also focuses on serving the community.
Throughout its history, Alpha Phi Alpha has played a significant role in the civil rights movement and has been involved in various social and political initiatives aimed at addressing racial inequality. The fraternity carries the legacy of strong commitment to community service and continues to contribute to numerous charitable causes.
Happy Founders’ Day to our brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha!
Happy 112th Founders’ Day to the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
On November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi was founded on four principles that edify what it means to build up manhood, thrive in scholarship, persevere, and uplift other men and communities around them.
Continuing a legacy of greatness since inception, they continue to exemplify these principles from Canada to Bermuda, Germany to Panama, with over 750 chapters impacting and transforming each country they tract.

Generation after generation achieves their goals and successes from the power of those who choose to teach. Educators around the globe selflessly give their time and invest years cultivating their skills to mold young minds in primary and secondary schools and on the advanced academic level as professors. Ask anyone you know to share the name of a teacher who impacted the person they are today, and you'll no doubt be met with a smile as fond memories rise to the surface of their thoughts. This week, the women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated celebrate the life of one such teacher who also happens to be one of the five coeds who had the foresight to lay the foundation of the sisterhood we proudly serve today 102 years later. #zetaphibeta #zphib #zphib1920 #embracetheextraordinary
