"When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there,
they themselves got into boats
and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
And when they found him across the sea they said to him,
"Rabbi, when did you get here?"
Jesus answered them and said,
"Amen, amen, I say to you,
you are looking for me not because you saw signs
but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
Do not work for food that perishes
but for the food that endures for eternal life,

Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two
and gave them authority over unclean spirits.
He instructed them to take nothing for the journey
but a walking stick—
no food, no sack, no money in their belts.
They were, however, to wear sandals
but not a second tunic.
He said to them,
“Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave.
Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you,
leave there and shake the dust off your feet
in testimony against them.”
So they went off and preached repentance.

"Do not be afraid; just have faith."
He did not allow anyone to accompany him inside
except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.
When they arrived at the house of the synagogue official,
he caught sight of a commotion,
people weeping and wailing loudly.
So he went in and said to them,
"Why this commotion and weeping?
The child is not dead but asleep."
And they ridiculed him.
Then he put them all out.
He took along the child's father and mother
and those who were with him
and entered the room where the child was.
He took the child by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum,"
which means, "Little girl, I say to you, arise!"
The girl, a child of twelve, arose immediately and walked around.

🌿 Learning to Listen 🌿

“Speak Lord, for your servant is listening”

Learning to truly listen to God is an important part of our spiritual journey. Jesus tells us to "take care of what you hear" (Mk 4:24, Lk 8:18). Spiritual direction can help us discern what God’s voice is telling us.

In life, we’re surrounded by noise. Jesus calls us into silence, and to allow His Word to take root in our hearts. In this silence, we may learn what God is calling us to do, and accept that path with joy. Mary is a great example of this as she says “May it be done to me according to your word” (Lk. 1:38).

Spiritual direction helps us create the silence needed to hear God, guiding us to listen with openness and expectation.

The Spiritual Direction Certificate (SDC) Program is designed to provide the knowledge, skills, and supervision for future spiritual directors. The Program seeks to respond to the ongoing need for the followers of Jesus Christ to assist one another on their path of becoming every day, more faithful disciples of the Lord.

The Spiritual Direction Certificate (SDC) Program is offered through Divine Mercy University (DMU) in collaboration with Regnum Christi. The Regnum Christi charism is imbued with a rich Christ-centered spirituality that seeks to meet individuals in their life situation and help them become missionary disciples, agents for the Christian transformation of society and culture. DMU has a proven method of developing onsite and online programs that are both academically rigorous and practical for working adults, deeply integrating the latest insights of the human sciences and the Catholic Christian view of the human person.
