Growing up I enjoyed going to appointments with my grandma and assisting with her care. I was side by side with her leading up to her successful lung transplant in 2019; it has been a beautiful experience to see how much she has improved and how much strength she had to consistently work towards her health goals. She built great relationships with the nurses, and she would always smile when seeing a nurse she recognized. I chose nursing because of how much I admired the nurses that have cared for her. I hope to provide the same support for my own patients.

I graduated from Indian Creek High School in 2021, completed an STNA course in 2023, and graduated at Eastern Gateway Community College in 2024 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. I chose Trinity School of Nursing’s LPN-RN bridge program because of it being close to home, the amount of hands-on learning, and the NCLEX pass rates. I have been working in long-term care as needed throughout nursing school for almost 3 years. After graduation, I plan to go back to college to complete a BSN program.

I would like to thank my fiancé and my grandma for the endless support, my classmate Jada for all of the study calls and reassurance, and the faculty and staff for truly caring about their students’ success. Nursing school has been challenging, but I am thankful for a career that is flexible, rewarding, and always having the opportunity for continued learning.

I graduated from Edison High School in 2022 and began my college journey at Kent State University majoring in business. I quickly decided that wasn’t for me and moved home. Five years ago, if you would’ve told me I was going to become a nurse I would’ve thought you were crazy! Somehow my mom and sister always knew I’d be a nurse, even before I figured it out for myself. Trinity has been the best decision that I have made for my life and I couldn’t be more grateful for the time and knowledge that this school has given me.
The reason I want to be a nurse is to be able to help others and comfort them when needed most. I love having a positive impact on people’s lives whether it be big or small. Nursing is a very rewarding career and I will never take that for granted. I chose Trinity because one, my older sister had graduated from there and I know how great of a nurse she is and two, I had also heard such great things about the school regarding hands on learning and instructors that help every step of the way and that couldn’t be more true! They encourage and push you to your limits, there is not one who will push you away!
In the future, I plan to further my education for my BSN and to then go for my NP. I plan to work on a Labor & Delivery unit while in school. I am very excited to be able to provide care to those who need it most, and provide support and patient advocacy.
I want to thank my family for dealing with my anxious self and crazy schedule! They have given me so much support through all of this and never let me doubt myself. I want to thank the friends that I have made along the way. They have listened to all my rants and always were so patient when I asked a thousand questions. I thank the instructors and faculty at Trinity School of Nursing for dealing with all of our craziness and never giving up on us. I’d also like to thank God for being with me every step of the way and always giving me a push forward!

For the past 26 years, I have proudly worked as a CT (Cat Scan) Technologist, caring for patients and serving my community in a field I have always loved, from Diagnostic Radiology to Cross training to be a CT Technologist. However, after losing my dad following a heart attack, my life changed in ways I never expected. Although he underwent a heart catheterization and bypass surgery, our family still lost him, and that heartbreaking experience forever changed me. It inspired me to go back to school for nursing and pursue a new path in healthcare. While I loved my career in CT, I realized I wanted to be more hands-on with patients and care for them on a deeper level during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

I wanted to show my children that no matter your age or where you are in life, it is never too late to chase your dreams, change careers, and become the person you are meant to be. The past two years have been challenging, exhausting, rewarding, emotional, and unforgettable, and I am so proud to finally be finishing this journey.

There were many moments when I doubted myself and wondered if I was strong enough to keep going. Nursing school challenged me mentally and emotionally, at times life brought personal struggles that felt overwhelming. But every single time I felt like giving up, my family stood beside me cheering me on, reminding me that I was smart, capable, strong, and that I could do this. Their love and encouragement helped me keep pushing forward even on the hardest days. Despite every obstacle and personal challenge, I have continued to rise above it all, and I know without a doubt that I would not be where I am today without God carrying me through.

I also want to give a heartfelt thank you to the amazing instructors at the Trinity School of Nursing. Their kindness, encouragement, patience, and support meant more to me than words can express. There were times when personal struggles felt unbearable, and the compassion and understanding shown to me during those moments helped me continue moving forward. I will never forget the support I received from the school and instructors throughout this journey.

I am incredibly thankful for my husband, who supported me 100% through this amazing and crazy journey and never stopped believing in me, even on the days I doubted myself. I also want to thank my children, who sacrificed so much time with me while I worked toward this goal. Everything I have done has been for them.

A very special thank you goes to my mom, who stepped in and helped raise my kiddos over the past two years so I could continue pursuing this dream. I truly could not have done this without her love, sacrifices, and support.

Most importantly, I want to thank God, who has been my constant therapist, my strength, my comfort, and my peace through every stressful, emotional, and overwhelming moment. My faith carried me through and I am beyond grateful for the path He placed before me.

After graduation, I hope to pursue a position in the ICU/CVU or Cardiac Cath Lab, caring for some of the most critically ill patients and continuing to make a difference when patients and families need support the most. I want to be the kind of nurse patients feel comfortable with — someone they know truly cares about them and will take good care of them. I want to be the person patients feel safe talking to, someone who helps ease their fears, supports them through their pain, and cares for them during the hardest moments of their lives.

Most of all, I want to be the kind of nurse I watched care for my dad. The nurses who cared for him at Trinity Health System made such a lasting impact on myself and my family. They fought for him, comforted us, treated him with dignity and compassion, and showed me what it truly means to be a nurse. Watching them during one of the hardest moments of my life inspired the nurse I hope to become.

This chapter may be ending, but an exciting new one is just beginning.

Nursing was not my original plan, but I always knew I was meant to work in healthcare. After graduating from Weir High School in 2022, I attended West Liberty University for medical lab science. While I learned a lot during that time, I realized it wasn’t where my heart truly was. After my first year, I moved back home feeling uncertain about what direction to take. That uncertainty eventually led me to nursing. I’ve always wanted a career that allowed me to make a positive difference in someone’s life every single day, even in the smallest ways. To me, there is no greater purpose than being able to care for people when they need it most.

I chose Trinity because it already felt like home to me long before I ever became a student. My grandma graduated from TSON in 2010, and I still remember watching her and her friends spend hours in the living room studying together. I admired their dedication so much, and I looked up to them more than they probably ever realized. As I got older, hearing about the faculty, the passing rates, and the sense of community within the program made my decision even easier. Trinity gave me not only an education, but also a place where I grew into myself in ways I never expected.

In the future, I hope to further my education and possibly pursue a career in hospice care. There is something incredibly meaningful to me about being able to provide comfort, dignity, and peace to patients and families in their hardest moments. I want to be the nurse who reminds people they are never alone, especially on the most difficult days.

I want to thank my family for carrying me through the last two years. They loved me through the stress, the exhaustion, and every moment where I doubted myself. They celebrated every victory with me and reminded me to keep going when I felt like giving up. I truly would not be here without them. I also want to thank my best friends for understanding the sacrifices nursing school required from me. There were missed birthdays, canceled plans, and so many moments where school had to come first, but they never stopped loving and supporting me through it all.

To my instructors and classmates, thank you for becoming a second family to me. Thank you for the encouragement, the laughter, the long days, and for constantly reminding me that I was capable even when I struggled to believe it myself.

Lastly, and most importantly, I want to thank God. Throughout this journey, I have never felt closer to Him. In every challenge, every prayer, every moment of doubt, and every success, His grace carried me. I know without Him, I would not be where I am today.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - Raegan Hayes

I graduated from Steubenville High School in 2023. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to help my community in some way. As I got older, I discovered the profession of nursing and instantly fell in love with it. I knew I wanted to stay close to home, and after hearing so many wonderful things about Trinity School of Nursing, I knew it was the right place for me.

After graduation, I plan to begin my career working in the Emergency Department, where I hope to make a difference in patients’ lives during some of their most difficult moments. In the future, I would like to further my education and become a nurse practitioner specializing in emergency medicine.

I am incredibly thankful for my entire family, whose love, encouragement, and unwavering support helped me through every challenge along this journey. I truly would not have made it this far without them standing beside me every step of the way. I would also like to thank my friends for being so patient and understanding during the times when school demanded most of my attention and time.

I am especially grateful for my instructors at Trinity School of Nursing for continually pushing me to grow, believe in myself, and become the best nurse I can be. Their guidance, encouragement, and support throughout this journey have meant so much to me.

Most importantly, I want to thank the Lord. My faith gave me strength during the stressful and challenging moments throughout nursing school, and I truly believe none of this would have been possible without His guidance and blessings. I am so grateful for the path He has led me on and for the opportunity to begin this next chapter in my nursing career.
