The Chicago architectural tour finished with a visit to the iconic Dr. Edith Farnsworth house. This weekend retreat was designed by International Style master Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1951.

The Chicago architectural tour has begun! Second year interior architecture students are enjoying the sights and sounds of the windy city. The tour includes visits to professional architecture and design firms, The International Interior Design Association headquarters, and The Rookery to study the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.

It's a proud day when your students present their proposals after a semester of research, concept development and design development. These students brought their energy and enthusiasm to studio and it showed in these insightful healthcare proposals to adaptively reuse a local building. Thank you to Alexis (UWSP Facility Planning), Jim (Crystal Fountains Assisted Living), and Steve (Ellis Construction-not pictured) for adding your insights to these presentations.

Thanks to our UWSP IA alumni for reviewing IA 417 Advanced Architectural Studio I-Office Planning final projects this December. Angie (Henschel) Novak, of Sentry Insurance Facility Planning, Schawn Jubert and Julie (Wendt) Diesch of Atmosphere Commercial Interiors, provided professional comments on the Steelcase Furniture student design project, a 16,000 square foot project space in the Chicago Fulton Market District. Congratulations students for a successful semester of learning and achievement.
