I know this is a long post BUT it is important! It effects UWSP and you! Please plan on attending the next budget open forum Monday February 9 @ 9am in the Alumni Room. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact any of your SGA senators or me or anyone here at UWSP that you feel comfortable with.
Thanks!

Fellow Pointers,
Over the past week there have been a lot of discussions surrounding a proposed 300 million dollar budget cut to the UW System. On Friday Chancellor Patterson held a budget forum explaining the potential impacts of this cut to UW-Stevens Point.
This email is to inform each UWSP student about the implications of this proposed cut.
UW – Stevens Point projects a 6.4 Million dollar cut to programs and services based on previous state funding allocations. This will occur if the state budget proposal is approved. This number is difficult to imagine, so here is some information that will give some perspective.
Keep in mind this is not a proposed solution. Rather, this is meant to illustrate the impact of such a large cut.
I wish to highlight that the entire College of Fine Arts budget is 6.8 Million and the projected cut is 6.4 Million. At this point, I want to assure every student that this information is only to give perspective to the potential impact of this proposed cut and in no way represents a proposed solution to the potential cuts.
With the historic significance of this proposed cut the Student Government Association is asking students across campus to get involved.
What can students do to get involved?
