We are so excited to celebrate Dr. ’s recent “Highly Commended” paper award from the International Small Business Journal! 📖

The journal editors recognized his work, “Toward an Entrepreneurial Judgement Theory,” as a runner-up for the best paper published all year—a huge milestone that highlights the world-class research happening right here at the OSU School of Entrepreneurship.

Whether he’s in the classroom or published in top-tier journals, Dr. Bylund is constantly pushing the boundaries of how we understand entrepreneurship.

STILLWATER’S ENTREPRENEURS: 🍕🪁

In 1957, OSU freshman Richard Dermer was a delivery driver with a hunch: pizza was going to be bigger than hamburgers. By age 20, he and his wife Marti bought the shop—then called Campus Hideaway—to pay their way through college.

What started as a student hustle became a Stillwater legend. Richard, known as the “Big Kahuna,” was a world-class kite flyer who filled the restaurant’s ceiling with his collection, creating the eccentric, laid-back vibe that still defines the place today.

From its original 3rd Street spot to the flagship on Knoblock, the Hideaway is the ultimate proof that a college job can turn into a local empire. 🧡
