✨Student Spotlight✨

Hi, My name is Tucker Smith and I am a Freshman studying Animal Science. I am originally from Duvall, Washington. I have spent the last four years involved with dairy cattle, working and showing, which has given me a deep appreciation for the dairy industry. Along with dairy, I showed market hogs all through high school which has helped me grow my skills across different parts of the livestock industry.
I am still trying to figure out what I want to do long term after graduating, but I am very interested in farm management and animal welfare. I enjoy learning by doing and being involved in day to day work that keeps the farm running. Working in this industry has been a big part of my life and I can’t wait to continue it at the OSU dairy.

✨Student Spotlight✨

Hello! My name is Clayton Wallace and I am a freshman at Oklahoma State University. I am here studying animal with a concentration in pre-veterinary medicine. I grew up in Lone Oak Texas showing dairy cattle, specifically Milking shorthorns and Jerseys. I plan to become a veterinarian and have my own dairy one day. Showing cattle has shaped much of who I am and given me many opportunities and friends. I have wanted to be a vet since I was old enough to understand what I meant. Although since I started showing the plan just further solidified itself in my heart.

Growing up in a small town where everyone knows everyone coming to a city for college always scared me. I didn’t know what to expect. I also had no friends here and at OSU but starting at the Ferguson Family dairy center has changed all of that. I get to do the work I know in a new place learning new things and making new friends. I can’t be more grateful for the opportunity and experience.

✨Student Spotlight✨

Hello everyone! My name is Cora Sullivan, and I’m a sophomore at Oklahoma State University, majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis in Pre-Law. I’m originally from Southwest Oklahoma, where I was blessed to grow up on my family’s farm. Growing up deeply involved in the agriculture industry, I quickly fell in love with cattle—both beef and dairy. Over the years, my heart has leaned more toward dairy cattle, and I’ve been fortunate to raise several champions.

When I decided to leave home and pursue my degree, I knew I wanted to find a place that felt like home. Working at the Ferguson Family Dairy has done just that. It’s allowed me to continue doing what I love while gaining hands-on experience.

My love for cattle has also fueled my passion for advocating for agriculture, which is why I chose a degree path that will hopefully lead me to become an agricultural lawyer. Working at the dairy continues to enrich my knowledge and broaden my perspective on the industry I care so deeply about.

Fun Fact: I have served as the Oklahoma Jersey Queen from 2022-2024, and was blessed to advocate for the Jersey breed.

✨Student Spotlight✨

Howdy y’all! My name is Cole Kleckner, and I’m currently a senior at Oklahoma State University majoring in Animal Science on the pre-vet track. I’m originally from Fort Worth, Texas, and I plan to attend veterinary school after graduation to practice mixed animal medicine. In addition to practicing, I also aspire to become a professor so I can teach and inspire the next generation of agricultural professionals.

Coming from the city, I had little to no experience with large animals and knew very little about them. Since arriving at OSU, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work with livestock animals, and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with them. One of the most impactful experiences has been working at the OSU Ferguson Dairy Farm. It has given me invaluable hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the dairy industry and dairy cattle. Not only have I learned practical skills, but I’ve also gained knowledge from some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable bosses and coworkers. I’m truly grateful to be part of such an amazing team that prioritizes the health and happiness of our cattle. The OSU Dairy has played a huge role in my education, and I’m excited to make the most of my final year here.

✨Student Spotlight✨

Hello everyone! My name is Blake Koesel and I am a sophomore at Oklahoma State University studying Animal Science on the Pre-Vet track. I am originally from Elk, Washington where I grew up on a beef ranch. I aspire to be a mixed practiced veterinarian. Cattle reproduction and embryo transfer have a special place in my heart and I intend to partake in ET work in some capacity when I graduate.

Working at the Ferguson Family Dairy Center has been my first involvement in the dairy industry, and I have to say, I love it. I have learned so much about dairy cattle and different aspects of taking care of them while working at the dairy center.
