Last week’s Undergraduate Research Symposium highlighted the impressive work of our Greenwood School of Music students!

Vocal Music Education majors Carter Wells and Katie Coughlin (’29) presented their project, “Listening in Difference: A duoethnography of pitch perception and music learning,” under the mentorship of Ben Kambs. Their research explored how musicians experience and process pitch in different ways, offering meaningful insight into music learning and pedagogy.

We also celebrate:

🎨 Pamela Kenworthy (Art: Studio, BFA '28 | OSU Concert Band), who presented “Microscopic Moments: Want a Bite?” with mentor Liz Roth. This year’s event also introduced a visual arts session,

🎭 Brinkley Niles (Theatre BA '29 | Cantamus Camerata & Concert Chorale), who presented “Whose Briefs Count? Mapping Regional Influence in Healthcare Cases Before the Supreme Court” with mentor Christine Bird

We are proud to see our students contributing thoughtful, interdisciplinary research that reflects the depth and creativity of the arts at OSU. Go Pokes!

The OSU Choirs are pleased to announce the return of the Madrigal Dinner, a cherished holiday tradition at Oklahoma State University. This special event will be offered on December 4 and 5, and audiences are encouraged to save these dates in anticipation of an unforgettable experience that will sell out quickly.

Under the direction of Dr. Christopher Haygood, Director of Choral and Vocal Studies and Professor of Conducting and Choral Music, the madrigal singers will transport you to another time with music, storytelling, and all the festive vibes.

First established in 1974, the Madrigal Dinner has long been a highlight of the holiday season at OSU. Proceeds from the event will directly support choral program scholarships, support student travel and create life-changing opportunities, making it both a meaningful and impactful occasion.

Additional details will be announced this fall. Stay tuned!
