The Oklahoma State University chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon was founded just recently on April 12th, 2012. The national organization is recognized as one with immense prestige, and was founded in 1844 at Yale University. The three traits that Delta Kappa Epsilon looks for most in men are that of the gentleman, the scholar and the jolly good fellow. Education is still the most important part of ev
ery college student's life, and we understand that it must be held above everything else. However, we also believe leadership is crucial to every Deke and it is a quality that we look for when recruiting young new members. Here atOklahoma State, another one of our strongest values is that of the toleration for the rights and views of others". This quote, taken directly from our national constitution, exhibits the exact views of the 12 founders. We were founded on this campus on the basis of bringing something to Greek Life that was not already there. This true brotherhood was brought together through many different minds, but ones with great cohesion. Diversity is welcomed and sought at DKE, and we boast one of the most successful alumni bases. Our alumni include five former US presidents, businessmen such a JP Morgan and Irving Chase, entertainers such as Dick Clark, prominent sports figures such as Tom Landry, and even famous explores such as Alan Bean (4th man on the moon) and Robert Peary (first man to the north pole). Our fraternity is involved with other Greek life spanning from volunteer work, intramurals, and socials with sororities. Beyond this our members are encouraged to be involved in on and off campus organizations as well. Currently we have brothers running much of the management at the MLSC (Math Learning and Success Center), playing for the OSU club soccer and golf teams, and cheering in the OSU paddle people at football games.
