We spent a week immersed in luxury across Italy, and one of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Maurizio Baldassari showroom. We experienced firsthand what it means to market a brand rooted in quiet luxury.

SMSC STUDY ABROAD TAKEOVER!🇮🇹✨

From lakeside views to the local market, we experienced the quiet luxury of Lugano, Switzerland.

We learned that luxury is intentional and speaks for itself without flashy logos or advertisements; it is about the quality, lifestyle and experience. It was a day we won’t forget, and one of those places that stays with you forever!

We enjoyed our first day in the beautiful Milan! Beginning the day walking around Quadrilatero della Moda learning more about luxurious brands and their history. We saw storefronts like Gucci, Armani, Tiffany & Co. and more! We spent the afternoon in the terraces of Duomo, taking in the views of Milan!🤍

Words cannot express how important it is to have friends and alums working together in a team to support current students. It seems like SMSC has many good friends and alums who give so much to the rising generation of professionals. It's our honor to get to know these friends individually and see what drives them. It's so motivational. This past week two of SMSC's finest friends came back to Stillwater to be honored as Distinguished Alumni by the OSU Alumni Association. Six individuals were honored in the 2025 class. Ken and Jennie Moyes were two of them. They were honored in a ceremony on Thursday (pictures below), then during the OSU/Tulsa football game on the field Friday evening (we won't talk about the game). We were on the opposite side of the field shooting the game and snapped a picture of them on the big screen. Today, we hosted a lunch gathering at Hideawy for them to meet some of the recipients of the scholarship they give to our students in emerging media (picture below).

We couldn't think of more deserving recipients of the award they received and we could not adequately express the impact they are having on SMSC and our students. Scholarships, gifts to support experiential learning of SMSC students, and the ever-growing and impactful Patti and Ken Moyes Endowed Speaker Series each semester. It's clear Ken and Jennie care about the rising generation. They want to give back to a university so dear to their hearts and its students.

All we can say is: On behalf of SMSC and its faculty, staff and students - THANK YOU Ken and Jennie!
