Happy Labor Day from Kappa Kappa Psi & Tau Beta Sigma. We are grateful for the many hands that shape our world.

First celebrated in New York in 1882, Labor Day is a celebration of the social and economic achievements of the America worker. In June 1894, Grover Cleveland signed a law designating the first Monday of September of each year a national holiday.

Our office will be closed today and reopening tomorrow at 8:00am CDT for normal business hours.

Beginning this fall, Tau Beta Sigma will pilot Cadence, a new leadership development experience for Active members. From October 2026 through June 2027, a cohort of up to 30 members will participate in leadership masterclasses, mentoring, and skill-building experiences designed to support their growth within Tau Beta Sigma and beyond. RED STRIPE SPOTLIGHT ❤️

Congratulations to the Theta Phi Chapter at Hampton University for hosting an NMDP event for their band program! Through the national partnership between Tau Beta Sigma, Kappa Kappa Psi, and NMDP, Chapters can help raise awareness of NMDP’s lifesaving mission to connect patients with blood stem cell donors. These events allow band members to learn about blood stem cell donation and, if eligible and interested, join the NMDP Registry through a simple cheek swab.

By bringing this opportunity directly to their band program, Theta Phi demonstrated how service can extend beyond the field and potentially help save lives. Their event counts as one of the two qualifying opportunities required for Red Stripe Part Two. From purpose to impact, Theta Phi is helping build greater bands and greater communities! ❤️

Connect with music educators from diverse backgrounds, expand your perspective, build community, and support one another through your music education journey.
