Thank you so much for meeting with me today! I really enjoyed our conversation and getting to hear more about your research and the work you do.

It’s one thing to read about someone’s research, but getting to hear about it directly from the person who conducted it makes it feel so much more meaningful. I especially enjoyed hearing you talk about your work and learning more about what goes on behind the research.

In a new Journal of Biological Chemistry study, researchers determined crystal structures of the herpes simplex virus protein ICP8 bound to DNA, revealing new details about how the virus
copies its genome.

The findings provide a structural framework for future efforts to target ICP8 therapeutically.

Another outstanding BMB graduate student is beginning the next chapter of her scientific journey!

Dr. Huishan Liu is headed to the University of Minnesota, where she will continue pursuing her passion for plant genetics. They are incredibly fortunate to have her!

Although it is always difficult to see our students leave, it is also one of the most rewarding parts of our work—watching talented young scientists grow, succeed, and pursue exciting new opportunities. Congratulations, Dr. Liu! We cannot wait to see all that you accomplish!
