Nothing builds character like working manual labor, which Cooper Flagg learned first-hand at an early age.

When he was just 11, Flagg, his 2 brothers and several friends were hired to pick peas at a local family farm in Maine.

Most kids that age wouldn’t want anything to do with it.

But not Cooper.

In fact, as a testament to the kind of kid he was, he took it as a personal challenge to pick as many peas as possible.

According to his friend’s parents who owned the farm, Cooper wanted to beat his friends so badly, he almost got himself fired.

That’s because he was picking so many peas that they were having to pay him more money than they’d bargained for.

Making $100 in 3 hours as an 11-year-old is a pretty sweet gig.

It may not be the $62 million he’ll make with the Mavericks the next 4 years.

But he’s probably not making $62 million without the lessons he learned making $100 on the farm.

He was eligible for a supermax extension this summer with the Mavericks: a massive 5-year, $345M contract.

It would've been the largest contract in NBA history, surpassing Jayson Tatum's $315M deal.

Instead, Luka is now on the Lakers and no longer eligible for the supermax.

The biggest extension he can get in LA?

5 years, $229 million.

A difference of $116 million - all gone in just one move.

LeBron learned of it while he was out to dinner with his family, after the Knicks game and was “surprised by the news, is processing it and had no idea it was in the works,” according to Dave McMenamin.
