In spring of 1985, Pacific established a program of study leading to the Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. The first complement of 30 students enrolled in the program in fall of 1986. In 2002, Pacific’s Board of Regents granted the Department and School the right to transition the Master of Science degree to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. The first DPT class entered in th

e fall of 2003 and graduated in September 2005. The mission of Pacific's physical therapy program is to prepare lifelong learners who are skilled, reflective, autonomous practitioners. The program is committed to furthering the body of knowledge of physical therapy and providing leadership within the profession advocating for optimal health, wellness and performance for all members of society. We accomplish this through a concise 25-month program of study emphasizing evidence-based reasoning and creative skills grounded in the basic and clinical sciences. Our academic program is enhanced by a wide variety of innovative clinical experiences and involvement in professional societies. Graduates from Pacific’s program are eligible to sit for the National Physical Therapy Licensure Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. The first time pass rate for Pacific DPT graduates consistently is at or very near 100%. Many have become board certified specialists through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists while others have attained leadership levels with local, state, and national organizations.

Thank you Kelli Killeen, PT, DPT, OCS and Morgan Humble PT, DPT, NCS and Carson Valley Medical Center (OPO), in Carson Valley, NV for mentoring Tali on her recent clinical education experience!

Tali says " Both Kelli and Morgan showed me what it looks like to combine clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills with genuine compassion, humor, and connection with patients. More importantly, they taught me that the best patient care comes from seeing the person behind the injury and helping them get back to the life that matters to them."
