Don't forget to submit your photos for the 2027 Because of YOU Photo Contest.

Between now and September 14, 2026, submit your best images of any UConn campus for consideration. Selections will be based on:

-content
-quality
-clarity of photos

Finalists will be displayed on the UConn Alumni page, where UConn Nation will have a chance to "like" their favorite photos. The winning photographers will receive a calendar of their own, and their photo and credit will appear in the calendar.

Turning curiosity into discovery. Through UConn’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fund (SURF), students like Philip LeShane ’28 (ENG) are exploring bold ideas with real-world impact, including a haptic feedback device designed to help people performing robotic or remote procedures feel fingertip sensations like pressure and slipping for more precise control.

SURF provides competitive summer funding for undergraduates across every major and campus, helping students dedicate time, resources, and creativity to projects that push ideas forward.

As Philip puts it: “For me, robotics has always been about building products that help people.”
