UCONN Lambdas "Where the beginning of this Life, means the end of another"

Leaders of the Latino Greek Movement Since 1975 Lambda Theta Phi, Latin Fraternity, Inc.

Lambda Chapter was founded on February 24, 1991 at the University of Connecticut by seven forward thinking Latinos determined to make a difference on their campus and in their communities by speaking out as group when the cries of the individual fell on deaf ears. Lambda Chapter is also very important in Lambda Theta Phi's history because it
was the first chapter outside the state of New Jersey a

nd made the fraternity a national one
Lambda Theta Phi is a non-profit social and service fraternity emphasizing Latin unity and the celebration of the Latin culture. It provides the Latino college student the opportunity to be part of a family with a mission. What is this mission? To cultivate a spirit of brotherhood, to value an education, to promote unity among all Latinos, to be proud of and cherish our heritage, to assert roles of leadership, to develop character, to practice chivalry, and to serve mankind. In short, to raise the social and cultural conscience of the Latin male college student. Lambda Theta Phi, has and will forever be a community service/ social fraternity, what does that mean? it means we are dedicated to giving back to our community and illustrating to all communities that by working to together we can achieve our goals - "En la unión está la fuerza,” "In unity there is strength."

Alumni Spotlight 🌟⁣
Davoy Fong SP09 Ξ3⁣

Brother Davoy is the Director of Client Services & Technology at A+E Network and a 2011 graduate of UConn. As a brother, he emphasizes that crossing and celebrating that achievement with his two line brothers would always be his best memory.🤎⁣

Piece of advice: “Don't waste time wondering or thinking of what could have been. Always look ahead, not behind.”🤝🏽⁣

The Brothers of Lambda Chapter would also like to congratulate Davoy on the recent news that he and his wife are expecting a baby soon!🎉🍼⁣

Alumni Spotlight 🌟⁣
Orlando Valentin Jr. SP12 Ρ1⁣

Brother Orlando is currently an Assistant Principal at Hanover Elementary School. Previously a 4th-grade teacher and now in his second year in administration, Orlando is proud to be working in his hometown of Meriden, CT in the same school he attended when he was younger.👨🏽‍🏫⁣

One of his recent accomplishments includes receiving $7,200 in grant funds for the recruitment and retention of racially diverse educators in Meriden. 👏🏽⁣

As a brother he emphasizes his favorite memories come from all of the events that bring brothers together such as the annual Lambda Thanksgiving, National Conventions, and other events where brothers travel out of state.🤝🏽⁣

Piece of advice: “Never let others guilt you or drag you down to their level of mediocrity. Be great.”⁣
