Congratulations to Rodney "Rod" Rock, Director of the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts in the UConn School of Fine Arts, on being named a recipient of the 2026 Provost's Outstanding Service Award!

This prestigious honor recognizes faculty and staff whose sustained leadership and service have strengthened the University of Connecticut and advanced its mission across the state and beyond. Rod is recognized alongside fellow honorees Dr. Mary Anne Roshni Amalaradjou and Petra Clark-Dufner for their extraordinary contributions to the University.

For nearly four decades, Rod has helped shape UConn's cultural landscape by transforming the Jorgensen Center into one of Connecticut's premier performing arts destinations. Under his leadership, the venue has welcomed up to 70,000 patrons annually, presented world-renowned artists, expanded arts education and outreach, and even reached audiences locally, nationally, and internationally through the Jorgensen Digital Stage.

From inspiring students and audiences to strengthening the arts across our community, Rod's impact is truly lasting.

Join UConn piano professor Dr. Angelina Gadeliya this Sunday, May 24th, at 3 pm for an exciting season finale program of the Fryderyk Chopin Society of Connecticut series, presented by the New Britain Museum of American Art. She will be performing Chopin's virtuosic Rondo a la Mazur as well as Mozart and Chopin concerti alongside principal players of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra- violinists Leonid Sigal and Jaroslaw Lis, violist Ramon Carrero-Martinez, and cellist Jia Cao.
