UConn Pro-Life Club

UConn Pro-Life Club We meet every Monday 7pm in Arjona 115. The UCONN Pro Life Club strives to preserve life. We make sure to accomplish our mission and have fun while doing it!

Our main focus is to educate students and parents-to-be about abortion in order to prevent their occurrence. In order to accomplish this goal, the clubmeets weekly to organize activities such as:

1) Raise awareness by bringing speakers to campus, distribution of educational materials, screening of relevant films, etc.

2) Organizes and participates in peaceful demonstrations, including but not li

mited to Prolife Day of Silent Solidarity, March for Life, and Forty Days for Life.

3)Travel to the Northeast Regional Prolife Conference.

4) Fundraisers to pay for speakers and educational materials. The club is a great way to make lasting friendships with people who share the same opinions and beliefs. The club is always looking for new members and new ideas about how to spread awareness.

Today is the 9th anniversary of the Unborn Victims of Violence Act. This law states that a child in utero is considered as a "member of the species homo sapien," and any criminal act against a pregnant mother would make the fetus be a victim as well. However, of all the criminal acts, abortion is not considered one of them. We must take action and fight for social justice that allows the fetus to have the equal rights.

Jennifer McKenna Morbelli, a 29-year-old kindergarden teacher, died from "safe and legal" abortion by LeRoy Carhart. We must continue to create awareness that no abortion is safe and every individual deserves the right to live. Pray for her 33-week-old Madison Leigh and every living fetus in the world.

I did not report on the death last week of a patient of late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart because I did not have corroboration. I now do.

In case you never heard of this before, pregnancy centers are places where pregnant women would go to receive any form of help for their babies, such as but not limited to ultrasounds, parenting classes, housing, baby supplies, and many more.

One particular paragraph stood out: Ms. McGregor said 94 percent of women receiving ultrasounds decide against abortion. “It goes from a baby to my baby,” she said. “If they are abortion-minded or abortion-vulnerable, we automatically offer ultrasound.”

We need more pregnancy centers to remind us that the fetus is a human life.

Pregnancy centers, largely run by conservative Christians, say they are taking a “compassionate approach” to efforts to restrict abortion.
