UConn Astronomy Association An organization for stargazing, space news, outreach, and all things astronomy at the University of

We plan to view the night sky, take trips to museums and observatories and telescopes on campus and off. A personal telescope is encouraged but not required as members already have at least one. The Moon, Jupiter, the Great Nebula in Orion, and the Andromeda Galaxy, for example, are all objects that we would enjoy observing. We hope to observe at least each Messier object (we'll explain later).

Astronomy Association is UConn’s only undergraduate organization for all things space! We invite undergraduates from all majors to explore, discuss, and enjoy astronomy in a relaxed and educational environment. We organize observation nights, where we use our club telescopes and binoculars to observe the night sky. We also make trips to local observatories, planetariums, and sometimes even astronomy expos!

Your support helps us buy new equipment and arrange more experiences for UConn undergraduates to learn astronomy hands-on. Since our club is entirely student-run, we rely on donations to pay for guest speakers at meetings, purchase new equipment for observation nights, and pay travel and registration fees for events our club participates in. Any additional funds will be used to support the general activities of the group.

We will be giving an overview of the club, talk about some of our plans for this upcoming semester, and play a fun game of Kahoot (a lucky someone might even get a gift card 😎).
