NRE faculty and staff are bringing their rocking side-quest to the classroom next fall!
NRE 4695 – Applied Environmental Rock Performance & Production
• Communicating ecological concepts through musical composition
• Interpreting natural resource data using lyrical frameworks
• Performing field-based outreach in both indoor and outdoor settings
Lab Component: Live performance sessions in forest, wetland, and campus environments
Final Project: Original rock anthem demonstrating course concepts, evaluated on scientific accuracy, lyrical depth, and stage presence.
Prerequisites: NRE 1000 Environmental Science; Basic familiarity with guitar/bass, drums (or willingness to learn under pressure).
Enrollment is expected to be competitive. Interested students are encouraged to prepare accordingly. Please be sure to register for this course before the end of today, April 1, 2026.
