Su***de is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. Many people are uncomfortable with the topic of su***de, and as a result people rarely communicate openly about su***de. Although it may be difficult to approach the topic of su***de, we must reach out to those who are in distress.

Family and friends are often the first to notice the warning signs of su***de and can be the first step toward helping an at-risk individual find treatment with someone who specializes in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions.
