The cost for each camp is $15 (an initial $30 charge for non 4-H members will be charged). Please reach out to the 4-H office with any questions about camps! Does your child love nature, animals, bugs, trees, and the outdoors? Are they interested in environmental science? Well then the Pocono Ecology 4H club may be just for you! The name may be new, but this club is 30-years old! We have re-branded the Insects Are Us 4H Club to better reflect our expanded focus on all things that "Nature Nerds" will love!

The Pocono Ecology 4H club will learn about native plants and beekeeping at our Middle Smithfield Township pollinator garden plot and beehive, help out with the Brodhead Watershed streamwatch program, go on fun field trips to local parks and nature centers, learn about wildlife that live in our own backyards, participate in community service projects, and so much more!

Club members enjoyed a Rebranding Launch Party at their last 4H meeting. The kids played a "getting to know" you name & favorite animal memory game (led by club president Micah Staples), built a mini terrestrial habitat, created "beaver dams" out of play-doh and tested them out for engineering sturdiness, and enjoyed a special cake.

Before National Volunteer Week comes to a close, I want to take a minute to thank all of our 4-H volunteers! This program could not run without you and I appreciate all the time, effort, and energy you put into our program! I appreciate each and every one of you!

Micah, our State Project Ambassador (SPA) for Environment Science recently visited Pleasant Valley Elementary School for their Earth Day Celebration. Micah had a lot of fun teaching the students about beetles. Thanks to PVE for the invite and we hope everyone had fun!
