Today, as the Morris College Class of 2026 prepares to take the stage, we proudly celebrate one of our very own graduates, our Chapter President, Deborah Mitchell. 💚🩷💚🩷💐
Since 2023, Sister Deborah, you have led this chapter with grace, strength, and unwavering dedication. You have inspired us, uplifted our community, and shaped this chapter into what it is today. Even in seasons where the weight was heavy, you carried it with dignity, holding down our chapter on your own as the sole active member for over a year. Your commitment, resilience, and love for this sisterhood will never be forgotten.
Academically, you have set the standard! You’ve been a consistent President’s and Dean’s List scholar and a two time full ride STEM scholarship recipient. Your journey speaks even louder as you’ve overcome paralysis and rising again with faith and strength is a true testament to your unshakable spirit.
You are a woman of purpose and impact. A poet and the youngest member of the Columbia Writers Alliance. A servant leader as President of the National Council of Negro Women, Morris College Chapter from 2024 to 2025. A dedicated leader of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Nu Gamma Chapter, serving as Vice President from 2023 to 2024 and Chapter President from 2024 to 2026. You have poured into others as a mentor with the Rebirth Enterprise Youth Development Program, uplifted through the Morris College Gospel Choir, served as a yoga instructor, and as an American Sign Language interpreter. Even beyond all of this, you continue to build and create. From your catering business, Momma K’s Southern Flair, to your digital brand, Validity Designs and Prints, you embody what it means to be driven, creative, and purpose filled.
Thank you for your leadership, your sacrifices, your love, and your light. We honor you and give you your flowers! We are proud and excited for all that lies ahead. We pray continued success, favor, and blessings over your life.
Sister Deborah, thank you for your service to all mankind. Go forward and continue to be great.
Congratulations, Madam President. You did it! 🩷💚🩷💚🎉
