Featured in these pictures are four senior creative writing students—Amelia Mapstone, Carly McMichael, Jonathan Roberts, and Timothy Murphy—from their trip to Tampa, Florida over spring break. They attended the annual AWP Conference and Bookfair, seeing several speakers and panel discussions on all a multitude of subjects related to creative writing, including a speech from Syracuse native George Saunders.

CALL FOR STUDENT WRITING:

Le Moyne College is the recipient of a small grant to produce a newsletter with the goal of reducing stigma about mental health issues. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents are invited to submit articles, essays, (no more than 700 words,) or poems about maintaining good mental health and wellness, or about recovering from, and living with mental illness.

Five of the best articles in each category will be chosen by the selection committee. The newsletter will be made available to the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents at Le Moyne College. A monetary award will be given to those individuals whose entries are chosen for print!

Please submit your entries by Thursday, Nov. 9 to Anne Kearney at [email protected] with Dolphins Changing Minds in the email heading. Any questions, call Anne at ext. 4197.
