And that's a wrap for Puget Sound Chase Hutchinson & Katie Oder. NPTE was definitely a wild ride. We had some good debates, but ultimately didn't break. Thanks to everyone who supported us on Chase's final tournament, including Sarah Elaine. Special shout to Mikay Parsons and Sarah McDonagh for joining us in our prep room and for the good feelings. With that, Puget Sound has closed out it's parli and policy seasons. Keep an eye out as we dabble in British Parli this weekend.

Back from the NPDA national tournament. Our 6-2 Chase Hutchinson and Katie Oder ended their run in double octafinals in a great and fun debate that closes Chase's last NPDA. Sophomore Cooper Price and first year Natalie Willoughby got 2 wins, many debates, and got to play outside their usual policy format. Wish HO luck at NPTE this week!

WOOOOOOOWWWW wweee! Puget Sound finished hosting the Cross Examination Debate Association National Tournament last weekend. It was a great time hosting a large part of the collegiate policy debate community on our campus. Chase Hutchinson and Kat Queirolo were in double octafinalist! Madyson Frank and Hannah Ritner had a very respectable 4-4, missing breaking only in round 8; keep an eye out for them next year. First years SaraJane Griffiths and Natalie Willoughby went 2-6; a FANTASTIC record for first year's without prior policy experience. You'll see them at the NDT soon, we're sure.

WOW! Make sure you read all of this cause we have a lot of updates: Puget Sound brought Kat Queirolo & Chase Hutchinson and Cooper Price & Paul Un to the David Frank Tournament of Scholars hosted by Oregon Debate. Kat came out of retirement to help UPS HO qualify to the NPTE. While we did not win the $200 first speaker award (looking at you Sarah McDonagh), Queirolo was 3rd speaker, Hutchinson was 7th, and they were 6-2 in prelims. But the real fun was winning rounds on some gems such as: T "is", condo, and textual competition. Puget Sound HQ won the tournament, and we now have a strong bid to get Puget Sound HO to the NPTE. Finally, none of this would have been possible without Laura Queirolo so generously hosting the team at the Queirolo home; making us breakfast and desert every morning; making us welcome-goody bags; and a travel snack bag for the drive home. And lets not forget Puget Sound alumna Abigail Gore who was the number one Alumna Cheerleader coming to watch rounds and wear her school gear to support the team! 🤩🤩🤩

Wow it's so busy around here we didn't get an update out! The policy debate team wrapped up their pre-national season at the Texas tournament last weekend. The team of Frank & Ritner was laid low by the Texas Curse (again! :( ), and Puget Sound Griffiths & Willoughby pulled out a win on their new aff - a goal for this semester!

More news to come as Puget Sound makes a final attempt to qualify for the 2018 NPTE, and prepares to host CEDA nationals.
