Hey, Loggers! It's SPRING ZING time again. In case you weren't aware, Spring Zing is the awesome community event coordinated between ASUPS Special Events and the North Proctor Business Association. And, this time, it's split into TWO DAYS for your festival attending convenience.
FRIDAY, APRIL 12:
We're kicking off the Spring Zing weekend with two amazing shows. Over at the Blue Mouse Theatre, jazz singer Lavay Smith will be swingin' with the UPS jazz band. Tickets are $4 for UPS folk. The show starts at 7:30 PM and seating is limited so make sure to get there early! (Co-sponsored by ASUPS Cultural Events)
If you're looking for something a little more raw and wild (or just something to do before/after Lavay Smith), then head on down to Cooper's Collision Corner for the Spring Zing Garage Show. A number of very awesome UPS bands will be showing off their skills from 5 - 10 PM. Make sure to come down and support your fellow UPS students and maybe find yourself a new favorite band! (Co-sponsored by ASUPS Campus Music Network)
SATURDAY, APRIL 13:
The day begins with the Proctor's Farmer Market which will be selling you excellent local food/produce from 10 AM - 1 PM.
Everyone's favorite horse-drawn carriage rides will be serving you some old fashioned fun from 11 AM - 2PM. Rides will be leaving from in front of Safeway. Also it's FREE!
We've also put together a fantastic main stage show for you from 11 AM - 2:30 PM. At 11, The Profess-ers will kick things off into high gear. At 12, the Kim Archer Band will take the stage and keep the high octane pumping. At 1, LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends will groove every last nook and cranny of your soul. Oh, did I mention that this great entertainment is COMPLETELY FREE and located in the auxiliary parking lot near Safeway at 25th and Adams? (Co-sponsored by ASUPS Popular Entertainment)
And, to keep the mighty hunger which you will no doubt experience from attending all the awesome, we'll have some awesome FOOD TRUCKS hanging around the main stage from 11 AM - 2 PM.
Be there or be prepared to miss one of the greatest events of the school year.
