Dear Members of Beta Theta Pi and Friends of Beta,
The Delta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Theta Pi cordially invites you to the dedication of the DE Chapter Room in memory of George H. Mills, Jr.
On August 07, 2021, at the 182nd General Convention of Beta Theta Pi held in Oxford, OH, delegates representing all Beta Theta Pi chapters and alumni associations in the United States and Canada unanimously adopted a posthumous resolution to recognize an extraordinary service of George Mills to the University of Puget Sound chapter and Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Being recognized by the General Convention, George Mills has been placed side by side with UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, Senator Richard Lugar, Nordstrom brothers, and many other extraordinary members of Beta Theta Pi who went above and beyond their call of duty to educate young men on how to live a principled life and become leaders dedicated to five core values of Beta Theta Pi: Mutual Assistance, Trust, Intellectual Growth, Responsible Conduct, and Integrity. This recognition, moreover, recognized George Mills' long-lasting impact on the University of Puget Sound community and, especially, his belief in each and every Logger and their success.
Following the passage of a resolution at the General Convention, the University of Puget Sound, the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Theta Pi has decided to rename its chapter room in memory of George H. Mills, Jr. The ceremony of dedication is scheduled for Homecoming Weekend, October 02, 2021, at 6 pm Pacific Time at the Chapter House, 1410 N. Union Ave., Tacoma, WA 98406.
Please RSVP to this post by September 30, 2021, if you are planning to attend the Ceremony of dedication.
