Submissions for fall 2020:
OSTCA would like to invite you to submit you and your undergraduate/graduate student’s research: quantitative, qualitative, theoretical, artistic, critical, and interdisciplinary projects. We welcome papers, posters, performances, panels, GIFT proposals, and oral presentations that reflect the conference theme and other issues/ideas of interest regarding communication
interactions including: interpersonal, intercultural, language and social interaction, rhetoric, acting, oral interpretation, readers’ theatre, journalism, forensics/debate, and mass media/broadcasting. We especially want to encourage panels and proposals that offer ideas how to engage students. Guidelines for Submission:
• Each submission must be accompanied with an abstract and completed submission form (see attached). Submissions should include title of work, authors, submission type, and an abstract/description of research.
• GIFT (Great Ideas for Teaching) submissions should (1) clearly identify the concept being covered by the activity and the course(s) for which it applies; (2) include a list of materials needed and instructions for conducting the activity including the amount of time needed; (3) offer a short explanation of possible learning insights experienced; (4) include references to any required or recommended readings. A cover page including the author’s name, school affiliation, complete mailing address and email address is also required. Submit all papers and panel proposals as a WORD attachment to the current OSTCA VP/Conference Planner. Please mark any technology needs on the submission form. If your submission is accepted for presentation, you will be notified and expected to register for the convention and hold a membership in OSTCA. You will find the registration information in the newsletter and on the web page. Each year OSTCA offers awards to deserving colleagues who have shown exemplary service and/or expertise. Please consider nominating a colleague, or self-nominate are also welcome. See the newsletter and web page for information on the different awards offered.
