Congratulations to the Spring 2026 BSW cohort on their impending graduation next week! 2 years in our program and they have persevered through coursework, practicum, personal obligations and all the sacrifices to become a part of the social work profession! Proud is an understatement. They are resilient and ready to go leave the world better than they found it. Their mascot (as you see on their shirts) are armadillos. They take each hit that comes their way and continue forth paving the way for those they work with, those that will follow in their footsteps and I can say they have made me rise to the occasion more than once. I can't wait to cheer each of you on as you accomplish this HUGE milestone💚🤍💚

This interactive workshop explores how involvement in social work student organizations cultivates leadership skills, professional identity, and readiness for practice. Grounded in principles of experiential learning and transformational leadership, this session examines how student-led engagement fosters confidence, advocacy, collaboration, and innovation. Presenters will share findings from previous research on the relationship between organizational involvement and leadership growth in BSW and MSW students, highlighting innovative practices that promote inclusion, advocacy, and professional readiness.
