Dear Epsilon Zeta Alumni,

The month of September has been a successful start to new year at Sigma Chi. We were of course gifted with the acquisition of our new home on Pensacola Street to start the new year. After this great news we were able to continue our continued success and momentum through Fall Recruitment. Through the hard work and dedication of our Rush Chair, Oliver Getley, and his committee we brought in a strong class of 28 men. The new class just went through their first week of P4B, I look forward to seeing these men grow as they go through the process of becoming brothers.

One of the things that we have started to emphasize as a chapter is Professional Development. Last week we held our first professional development of the semester that served as a resume workshop. At this event fellow Epsilon Zeta Alum, Charles Olson, was in attendance along with the FSU Career Center. At this event both parties gave a quick presentation on how resumes should be presented to employers. Then brothers in attendance were given the opportunity to get personal feedback on their resumes.

With the start of the new semester, I would like to bring back the Alumni of the Month Award. The purpose of this monthly award is to recognize an alum for their dedication to our chapter. Due to the help of Charles Olson at our Professionalism Event I would like to elect Charles Olson for September. We appreciate the dedication that Mr. Olson showed to our chapter by coming to our first professionalism event and making it a huge success for our brothers.

Some upcoming events to keep in mind over the course of October (All Alumni are welcome and encouraged to attend):

• 10/7 Virginia Tech Tailgate @ 749 W Pensacola St
• 10/11 Alumni Social @ 749 W Pensacola St
• 10/14 Syracuse Tailgate @ 749 W Pensacola St
• 10/21 Duke Tailgate @ 749 W Pensacola St
• 10/27-28 Initiation Weekend

Furthermore, for initiation weekend (10/27-28) we need assistance with the interview portion. If you are interested in helping initiate the new class, we would greatly appreciate your support. If you are available, please reply to this email and I will provide further details regarding our initiation plans. Also, some more information regarding next Wednesday (10/11) and our first Alumni Social of the semester starting at 7PM. The purpose of these events is to bridge the gap between active brothers and our local alumni by making valuable connections. Moreover, this will be a chill environment to kickback explore the new house and get to know our brotherhood, with drinks being provided.

As always, I would like to thank all of alumni for their continued support as we continue to gain momentum and move in a positive direction. We would not be where we are today without the strong backing from our alumni.

Good afternoon,

Beginning with the month of March we are going to start doing a monthly alumni spotlight to showcase our appreciation for our alums. We want to recognize our alumni that have always been so helpful to us as our chapter continues to grow.

This month we wanted to showcase fellow EZ alum Corey Corrado for his very generous donation to Derby Days. Thank you for helping us not only surpass our goal of $50,000 but reach $53,083.

We appreciate all of our alumni and everything that they do for us. Thank you again.

Good evening,

We have created a LinkedIn group in an attempt to bridge the gap between the Epsilon Zeta Alumni and it’s current members. The ultimate goal of bridging the gap through this platform is to streamline communication and create a mutually beneficial relationship for all parties. For instance, current members and alumni will hopefully use this group to find possible employment opportunities and internships through their brothers. Please join this group to make this opportunity a reality.
