Happy Anniversary to the legendary Marching โ€œ100โ€ of Florida A&M University! ๐Ÿ

Founded in 1946, the Marching 100 has spent nearly 80 years redefining collegiate marching band excellence through precision, innovation, and unforgettable performances. Known worldwide as โ€œThe Most Imitated Band in America,โ€ the band has influenced generations of musicians and helped shape modern marching band culture.

From earning the prestigious Sudler Trophy to representing the United States during the Bicentennial Celebration of the French Revolution in Paris, the Marching 100 continues to set the standard for HBCU excellence and musical performance.

Today, we celebrate a legacy of innovation, and influence that continues to inspire musicians, entertainers, and audiences worldwide.

If you've ever seen the Marching 100 perform, tell us where in the comments. Better yet, share this with a former band member or a fellow Rattler who knows what excellence sounds like. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿงก

Florida A&M University alumnus Gamaliel Harris is taking his talent to The Juilliard School, where he will begin graduate studies in jazz this fall.

A Fort Walton Beach native and 2025 FAMU graduate, Harris first came to the Hill as a pre-physical therapy major. But through FAMUโ€™s jazz ensemble, mentorship and performance opportunities, his passion for music became a calling.

After performing at the Jazz at Lincoln Center and Virginia Arts Festival HBCU Jazz Festival, Harris earned Outstanding Trombonist and Overall Outstanding Soloist honors.

His performance caught the attention of distinguished trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis, who encouraged Harris to apply to Juilliard.

Now, the Rattler musician is headed to New York for his next stage.

From the Highest of Seven Hills to Brown University. ๐Ÿโœจ

Graduate Raleigh Ford arrived at Florida A&M University shy and unsure of her path. She leaves as a public health scholar, student leader and researcher preparing to pursue a Master of Public Health at Brown University.

Her journey through FAMUโ€™s School of Allied Health Sciences included research on HIV stigma, student leadership, honors scholarship and a growing passion for health equity.

Study abroad opportunities just became more accessible for Florida A&M University students. ๐ŸŒโœˆ๏ธ

FAMU has been selected for the IIE American Passport Project Grant, helping up to 25 Pell-eligible students obtain their first U.S. passport and opening the door to international education experiences, global internships, research opportunities, and cultural exchange programs.

For many first-generation and low-income college students, getting a passport is the first barrier to studying abroad. This initiative helps remove that obstacle and expands access to life-changing global learning experiences for HBCU students.

Last year alone, more than 200 FAMU students studied abroad across 45+ countries. The world is calling, Rattlers. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒŽ

Tag a student who needs to see this. Save this post for future study abroad opportunities and send it to someone dreaming of international travel through college.
