Dr. Charles R. McClure, Francis Eppes Professor of Information Studies and founder and director of the Information Institute in The Florida State School of Information, retires after almost 21 years at FSU. Regularly listed as one of the most cited researchers in library and information science, Dr. McClure was a prolific producer of books and hundreds of other publications.

“The College is deeply indebted to Dr. McClure for his vision and leadership in building the Information Institute and making it a powerhouse for graduate education and research,” said CCI Dean Larry Dennis.

Jaime Goldman, an alumna of The Florida State School of Information, was named President of the IAMSLIC, an organization of librarians and information professionals who are involved in all aspects of aquatic and marine sciences. In her new position, Goldman serves as the chief executive officer for the organization and has general supervision over its affairs.

The Florida State School of Information faculty published a new research paper titled “How do mothers exchange parenting-related information in online communities? A Metasynthesis.” The project is a collaboration between Zhe He, Gary Burnett, visiting scholar, Juan Xie, and her advisor, Ying Cheng.

“The findings of this study can inform the provision of health information services to mothers to better meet their needs," said He.
