This summer, Jacquelle Jean Jacques will travel to Washington, D. C., where she will explore the intersection of policy, finance, and public service. Her project focuses on how financial systems impact businesses owned by underserved communities. She plans to look at policy and real-world applications, analyzing how government decisions shape access and how institutions implement those policies.

Kristen Cavanagh is a first-year English: Literature, Media, and Culture student as well as a member of FSU’s Tyler Fellowship Cohort. She travelled to Oxford, UK this May to research the motive behind the resurgence of Catholicism among young adults. Through a series of interviews with priests, organization leaders, and converts, Kristen hopes to better understand the reasons and impacts of the rise of Catholicism in Oxford.

The CRE is hiring a new Outreach and Communications Manager (Job Code: 62632)!

The position is responsible for coordinating the CRE's outreach and communications efforts to include written and graphic communications, outreach and information sessions, and general advising for the office. This position also supervises an intern and serves as the CRE liaison for the HSF Undergraduate Research Network, as well as coordinates several annual events, including Fall and Summer Research Days, Nourishing Creativity at the Undergraduate Research Symposium, the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference, and the biannual Florida Undergraduate Research Posters at the Capitol. Meet Aiden Leslie, a senior majoring in political science and bringing research to the big screen! Leslie’s passion for research led to a fellowship with the Tyler Center for Global Studies, where he conducted an independent documentary project in São Paulo, Brazil. Through this work, Leslie combines interests in journalism, filmmaking and advocacy, aiming to tell stories that inspire positive change.
