Sigma Alpha Iota is an organization, which promotes interaction among those who share a commitment to music.

Sigma Alpha Iota was founded on June 12, 1903 at the University School of Music, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Incorporating papers, under the laws of the State of Michigan, were signed December 1, 1904, and recorded December 15, 1904

🌟Sister Spotlight🌟

One of our sisters, Maggie Merrell, is a senior Choral Music Education student at Florida State University.

She recently had the honor of being selected to conduct in the Southern Region Conducting Masterclass in Memphis, where she led the University of Mississippi Singers through the piece “Jubilate Deo” by Manolo Da Rold. During this experience, she had the privilege of working with clinician Dr. Alissa Rowe of Louisiana State University.
Maggie had an incredibly meaningful experience, refining her conducting gesture and deepening her musical understanding.

She is very grateful for the opportunity and looks forward to continuing her growth as both a conductor and educator.
