SJGC Welcome Week 2026 kicks off September 14-17 with a full lineup for the semester ahead! 😉

👉🏾Mon 9/14 – Graphic Design Orientation, 10-11:30am, Lecture Hall (Rm 2002)

👉🏾Tue 9/15 – All School Colloquium, 9:30-10:45am, Lee Hall Auditorium

👉🏾Wed 9/16 – Clubs & Organizations Mixer & Fair, 5:30-7:15pm, The Writing Lab

🐍 | Congrats to our junior public relations student Jorryn Alleyne on wrapping up her summer internship as a Communications Intern with the Port of Palm Beach! 🎉

Jorryn helped develop communication strategies for the Port's initiatives and events, wrote press releases and newsletters, and supported the Port's brand across digital and print platforms. ⚓📝

With experience in radio, production and social media content, Jorryn brought skill and creativity to every part of this role!

🐍 | Two Rattlers got the full BET Next Gen Ambassador experience this summer! 🎵

Serenity Newson, a rising junior public relations major, and Aaliyah Tate, an upcoming senior journalism major, represented FAMU SJGC in the 2026 BET Next Gen Ambassador Program's communications/public relations track, gaining hands-on exposure to BET's brand, network and industry professionals while sharpening their skills in PR and content strategy. 👏🏾

From behind-the-scenes access to real industry mentorship, Serenity and Aaliyah stepped into the world of entertainment PR and came back ready to bring it home to SJGC. 💪🏾🐍

NABJ was a FAMUly reunion 🐍📰

Thank you to every speaker, panelist and media professional who poured into our students this weekend. You shared your time, your wisdom and your stories, and equipped our Rattlers with the journalism, news and empowerment tools to thrive in this industry.

We were joined by notable alumnae like Pam Oliver, Rashan Ali and Kimberly Godwin Manning, who came back to pour into the next generation of Rattlers.

To everyone who showed up for SJGC, we see you and we appreciate you. Our students left NABJ26 sharper, more connected and more ready to take on this industry. 🧡
