(PPAC) is a non-profit cultural dance group whose primary mission is to promote and preserve Philippine culture through folk dance, music and costume for generations to come. The group has performed all over the United States as well as in Canada and Europe per the invitations of the IOV & CIOFF under the UNESCO banner. Members of PPAC have performed throughout the US, including states such as Flo
rida, Georgia, Texas and Washington, DC, since 1987. The company has performed in major productions at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in 1993, 1996, 1998 and 1999, “All American Picnic” at the Kennedy Space Center, “Sayaw-Pilipino” at the University of Texas, “A Salute to the Philippine Centennial” at the Broward County Convention Center, “Festival of Asia” in Miami and others. PPAC was also a three time champion at the Valdosta International Folk Fair Dance Competition in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2009, the company was invited to become a member of the International Organization of Folk Art World (IOV) as well as the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) which has given the company a unique opportunity to perform abroad. In 2016, the company performed at the Billingham International Folklore Festival in BIllingham, England. In 2017, the company performed at the Carrasauga International Folk Festival in Missisagua, Ontario, Canada. The company promotes & teaches Philippine folk dances and native Philippine musical instruments under the direction of Joey Omila, a former member of the world famous Bayanihan National Folk Dance Company of the Philippines. Recognition & visibility of this beautiful and exotic heritage through public cultural performances have helped to strengthen the coalition & solidarity of Filipino-Americans & bolster national pride in the City of Tampa.
