Last Sunday, April 12th, we spent the day with our awesome collegiate sisters at the Eta Eta Chapter at the University of South Florida! We had a lovely brunch, presentation, room tours, and finished up mingling with a coffee bar! Thank you so much to the Eta Eta Chapter for a wonderful day spent together! 💖

Winter 2025 - Dottie Kellogg
Our winter 2025 sister spotlight is on Dottie Kellogg.
Dorothy Jiretz Kellogg was born in Tampa, Florida where she lived until 1973 when she and her family moved to Odessa, Florida on property that has been in her family since 1926. Dorothy attended Florida State University and majored in Home Economics, Clothing and Textiles Retailing. During her freshman year Gamma Phi Beta got permission to colonize a chapter. The exact number of pledges is unknown how many were in the first pledge class, but it was about 50 with a good assortment of grade levels. The girls renamed her Dottie as they didn't want to call her Dorothy. Gamma Phi Beta was virtually unheard of since they only had one chapter in Florida and two in Tennessee. Sisters worked hard to be active in their communities and participate in activities on campus. Slowly Gamma Phi Beta grew in reputation when more chapters were founded in Florida. By wearing her pin when traveling, Dottie met Gamma Phi's in other states. Years later when her daughter went to Florida State, she became a sister which made Dottie very proud. Dottie celebrated her 75 year initiation anniversary at our Founders Day event in November!

Fall 2025 - Katie Colitz
Our fall 2025 sister spotlight is on Katie Colitz. Katie lives in Crystal River, Florida, with her dog, Gator. She proudly serves as a Gamma Phi Beta Foundation Trustee. Katie works as In-House Counsel for Crystal River Quarries, Inc. and is a member of The Florida Bar. Before returning home to Crystal River, she lived in Norman, Oklahoma for three years while completing her law degree. She also earned her Master of Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame and her BSBA in Business Management from the University of Florida. Katie initiated at the Eta Xi Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at the University of Florida. Her time with Gamma Phi Beta started as a college community and has blossomed into lifelong friendships, treasured memories, and a passion for giving back to Gamma Phi Beta.
