USF Nourish International

USF Nourish International Nourish International is about changing the world with your friends! Meetings are Tuesday's at 6PM, room 2707 in the MSC.

Nourish is a student movement to eradicate global poverty. During the school year, students organize as Nourish Chapters, where they raise money through small businesses called "Ventures." Using the money they've earned, they select a sustainable development project to fund. Over the summer, they travel abroad to work alongside members of the community to implement the project. Nourish Chapters in

vest the money they earn in sustainable development projects with a specific, measurable outcome. To conduct these projects, Nourish Chapters work with a local partner organization that has the demonstrated support of the local community. Each summer, Nourish students travel abroad to work alongside members of the community to implement the project. Nourish International was founded in 2003 by Sindhura Citineni as the UNC student group “Hunger Lunch.” Since incorporating as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2006, Nourish has grown into a national organization with chapters at 23 universities across the United States. This summer, Nourish sent 65 students to work with community partners in Peru, Honduras, El Salvador, Bolivia, Guatemala, Ecuador, Rwanda, Turkey, and Uganda. In 2008, Nourish received the North Carolina Peace Prize for excellence in cross-cultural solutions and sustainable development. http://www.nourishinternational.org/about-us
