Congratulations to our Master of Counseling student, Amairany Lopez Mendias! Amairany was selected for the APA STAY Minority Fellowship Program. The fellowship is highly selective, and we are proud of her accomplishment.

"I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of the APA STAY Minority Fellowship Program! As a current student in ASU’s Master of Counseling program, specializing in School Counseling, I’m excited to learn from professionals in the field who are dedicated to supporting transition-age youth from underserved communities. As a Latina, I’m especially passionate about increasing access to mental health resources, reducing stigma, and creating supportive spaces where students feel seen, valued, and empowered. I look forward to growing in this journey and continuing to make a meaningful impact in the communities I serve!"

"I’m so excited and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the APA STAY Minority Fellowship Program! As a current student in ASU’s Master of Counseling program, I’m looking forward to continuing to grow as a future counselor, connecting with other fellows and professionals in the field, and furthering my passion for culturally responsive care. I’m especially interested in supporting adolescents and young adults and serving underrepresented populations, including Māori and Pacific Islander communities. I’m excited for the ways this fellowship will help me build the knowledge and skills to better serve these communities".
