Check out this video recap of the 2026 Game Devs of Color Expo watch party held at ASU in California on Broadway. 🎮🎴🎲 More than 50 industry guests attended alongside ASU students and local community college students. They also ran a Zoom feed to a concurrent watch party in Portland that expanded the sense of community.

Programming included live discussions and game demos from the expo, local developers showcasing their new and in-progress games and a keynote by hip hop artist Ace Patterson who ran his new hip hop trading card game afterwards, which people played for six hours!

September 18-20 was quite a weekend as our ASU team — the Game Devils — competed in the Arizona Game Cup, hosted this year at University of Advancing Technology!

Eleven teams of university and community college students from across the state had two days, September 19 and 20, to design, build and present a game. The Game Devils, supported by the Endless Games and Learning Lab and The GAME school, went up against all of them and came away with second place. Congratulations to the 2026 champions, Grand Canyon University!

Our thanks to Unity for presenting the event and to Bradston Henry, Unity's senior advocate for education, who led the judging and spent the whole weekend with the teams.

Now we're looking ahead to Flagstaff, where the Arizona teams meet next year at Northern Arizona University. Follow the Arizona Game Cup on LinkedIn to see highlights and updates!
