When the desert heat hits like this, communities across Eurasia have relied on the exact same trick for generations to stay cool: Okroshka. โœจ

Wasting massive effort on a completely worthless goal? ๐Ÿซ๐ŸŽช๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒพ

In English, we say "splitting hairs" or "making a mountain out of a molehill." But the Kazakh language has a much more vivid, market-rooted perspective: "Bit bazoqqa barmaq" (ะ‘ะธั‚ ะฑะฐะทะฐั€า“ะฐ ะฑะฐั€ะผะฐา›) โ€” literally, "to go to the flea market for a louse." ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ฟ

Historically, visiting a Kazakh trading bazaar was a major undertaking requiring extensive travel and resources. Traveling all that way just to acquire a worthless parasite perfectly critiques our human tendency to obsess over insignificant details or pour energy into fruitless endeavors.
