The School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies unveiled a new mural this semester, "You Are Here," painted by Professor Jason Bruner.

The most recent of SHPRS' collaborations between humanities and public art, the mural invites viewers to see how points of continuity, such as the Salt River flowing through each panel, are presented in different ways across history.

“I think about how any of the maps could tell multiple stories, even though they’re primarily intended to show one or two things,” Bruner said.

History is richest when it includes all human experiences. 🌍

Explore stories and perspectives that are often left out of traditional historical narratives this fall with HST 302: Global Histories of Disability.

Taught by ASU visiting scholar Radu Dinu, the course examines disability across the world through visual and written sources. In the course, you will think critically about history, inclusion and the ways ideas of normality have evolved over time.
