Do you know a high school student who will be in 10th-12th grade next school year and is interested in equine studies?
If so encourage the student (and parents/guardians) to visit www.smwc.edu/camp-courses for more information on the C.A.M.P. at The Woods Program that will take place June 5th-9th, 2023. Students can apply for the program at the website mentioned above. Students and families can learn more about C.A.M.P. at The Woods on April 5th by attending the Into C.A.M.P at The Woods event, watch for more information to come on that event!
The EQ 150: Introduction to Equine Industry Course is designed to introduce high school students to the world of equine studies. Students will learn introductory horse handling, riding, grooming and general care instruction, as well as an introduction to the science of the equine industry (nutrition, reproduction, and general physiology of the horse). Preferred completion of high school biology, Algebra I & 9th-grade physical education, recommendation letter by school counselor, and willingness to travel to Germany (fully funded faculty-led study abroad, speaking German is not required) in Fall 2023 after the June 2023 C.A.M.P. on-campus session.
