BMES helping out at Bikes for Tykes this morning!

11/29/2016

Hey guys! Make sure that you come to the BMES meeting NEXT TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6TH, 730PM in O201.

We'll be going over designs for BMES gear, FRESHMEN-- we will be planning BIO 2 review sessions for before every test. JUNIORS-- we will be planning physio review sessions for before every test. We will also be planning weekly tutor hours for BEs.

We will also have company spotlights every meeting focusing on companies that STILL HAVE INTERNSHIP POSITIONS OPEN.

Finally, we will start talking about new executive board members. Elections will be held 8th week this quarter. We will start taking nominations in two meetings. Anyone in BMES is eligible, from freshmen to juniors, and is a great resume builder and career fair topic!

09/20/2016

Hi everyone!

Don't forget that the career fair is quickly coming up! In light of this, the meeting next week will be entirely career fair focused.

If you haven't had your resume checked, try to get in now!! Whitney is already extremely busy trying to get the career fair put together. In light of this, between 2:30 and 4:30 tomorrow (Wednesday) and Friday, at least one member of the exec board will be in the BE Hive to do resume reviews and talk about the career fair with people. Come on in and get ready for the fair!

09/15/2016

Hey guys! With the career fair coming up, it's important to get your resumes updated, practice those elevator pitches, and start researching companies!

This year, the only place you can see which companies are going to be there are through the Rose-Hulman Career Fair app. The nice thing is, it has filters for you to bring up only companies you're interested in!

08/25/2016

As we're getting closer to the school year, keep looking out for meetings! we'll have some good companies to keep an eye on for internships and full time jobs!

07/11/2016

Next potential conference-- this is a pretty special one! The Biomechanics and Implant design conference is November 7-9 in LAS VEGAS. This one covers everything from surgical procedures to materials of implants to mechanics of implants and beyond. If we can get a large interest going, we might be able to swing support from the school to go!

07/04/2016

Another potential conference is the BME midwest Regional Conference at the University of Illinois, which is on November 1st. It's only about an hour away from Rose Hulman, making it pretty easy to go to! They'll have awesome panels with members from businesses that aren't too far from rose, many of whom are looking for interns and full time employees. There will also be some poster sessions to see some cool projects! University of Illinois is also fostering a fairly new graduate level bio engineering program that you'll get exposed to.
